Do you wake up in the middle of the night with a mind that just won’t quit?
Lately, I’ve been waking up at 3 a.m., my head buzzing with creative ideas. I know I’m not alone—so many of us struggle with racing thoughts that make falling back asleep feel impossible.
But the harder I try to sleep, the more awake I feel. My brain insists on keeping me up. Therefore, I’ve turned to a simple trick that mimics the process of falling asleep: three-part breath.
Breathe into your belly, pause; your ribs, pause; your chest, pause—then exhale slowly. Your brain might fight it, but trust me: before you know it, it’ll be morning.
