This is the second part of a series on discontinuity editing. Here, we look at the Soviet Montage school of theory and filmmaking, including Lev Kuleshov's theory known as the "Kuleshov Effect" and Sergei Eisenstein's theory of montage as it's laid out in his essay "The Dialectic Approach to Film Form" (also known as Dramaturgy of Film Form).
