Women’s Day Celebrations Held at Kannada Sahitya Bhavan, Belagavi

बेळगावच्या कन्नड साहित्य भवनमध्ये महिला दिनाच्या निमित्ताने बेळगावी जिल्हा माजी सैनिक संघटनांच्या महासंघ महिला विभागाचे उद्घाटन करण्यात आले.

या कार्यक्रमाचे अध्यक्षपद अध्यक्ष सुनीता पाटणशेट्टी आणि मानद अध्यक्षा अनिता मिरजी यांनी भूषवले, तर नियती फाउंडेशनच्या संस्थापक डॉ. सोनाली सर्णोबत यांच्या हस्ते उद्घाटन करण्यात आले.

यावेळी डॉ. सोनाली सर्णोबत यांनी भाषण करताना सांगितले की, ब्रिटिशांनी जरी ९०० वर्षे भारतावर राज्य केले असले, तरी देशाच्या स्वातंत्र्यासाठी महिलांनी मोठा संघर्ष केला आहे. सनातन धर्मात महिलांना अबला नव्हे, तर सबला म्हणून ओळखले जाते.

त्यांनी पुढे सांगितले की, महिला सर्वच क्षेत्रांत प्रगती करत आहेत. मात्र, केवळ पुरुष संततीला प्राधान्य दिल्यामुळे आजच्या पिढीत वधूंची कमतरता भासत आहे. त्यामुळे महिला संघटनांनी वधुवर सुचक केंद्रे सुरू करावी. तसेच, निसर्गच स्त्री-पुरुष समानतेचा नियम सांगतो, असेही त्यांनी अधोरेखित केले.
The Belagavi District Ex-Servicemen’s Organization Mahasangh Women’s Wing was inaugurated at the Kannada Sahitya Bhavan in Belagavi as part of Women’s Day celebrations.

The event was presided over by President Sunita Pattanashetty and Honorary President Anita Mirji, with the inauguration done by Dr. Sonali Sarnobat, founder of Niyati Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sonali Sarnobat emphasized that although the British ruled India for 900 years, it was women who fought bravely to free the country. She highlighted that Sanatan Dharma recognizes women as powerful (Sabala), not weak (Abala).

She further stated that women have made remarkable progress in all fields but raised concerns over gender preference for male children, leading to a shortage of brides in the present generation. She urged women’s organizations to establish matchmaking centers and stressed that nature itself dictates equality between men and women.
