Queens residents frustrated over illegally parked trucks near JFK Airport

Residents in Queens say their neighborhood near JFK Airport has become an illegal parking lot for tractor-trailers, RVs, and box trucks, despite city rules limiting commercial vehicle parking to three hours. With sightlines blocked, locals fear for pedestrian safety, and many say the issue has only worsened in recent months. Despite the NYPD issuing more than 120 summonses and towing multiple vehicles since December, residents say enforcement isn’t enough to stop truckers from using Springfield Boulevard as a long-term parking spot.
