Come on a Friday night walking tour of the Tropicana Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Tropicana opened on April 4, 1957 at a cost of $15 million. Tropicana is located on the corner of Tropicana Ave and Las Vegas Blvd just south of the MGM Grand. Tropicana has numerous ownership changes throughout its history. Currently, Tropicana is owned by Bally's Corporation and has 1,467 hotel room. It is home to MJ Live, Purple Reign, and the Laugh Factory. In 2023, the Oakland Athletics reached an agreement with Bally's to build a Major League Baseball stadium and a new casino resort on the site of the Tropicana. The Tropicana will be closing its doors for good on April 2, 2024.
