The man who fancies himself as the next US ambassador to South Africa,
Joel Pollak, says if SA rejects his nomination, it will be at its
peril.
Pollak is poised to be US President Donald Trump’s favourite to
represent the US in SA.
But many have suggested that South Africa should not accept his
nomination after South African ambassador to the US, Ebrahim Rasool,
was expelled from the US.
While it is unclear when Trump will send a permanent representative,
Pollak says for SA to have healthy relations with the US, it must be
willing to compromise on its policies.
