In case you haven’t heard, NAR has agreed to put in place a new MLS rule prohibiting offers of broker compensation on the MLS. This would mean that offers of broker compensation could not be communicated via the MLS, but they could continue to be an option consumers can pursue off-MLS through negotiation and consultation with real estate professionals. The new rule is set to take effect on August 17.

The actual changes in local markets has yet to be seen. Buyer agents will continue to show and prove their value, and sellers in the Bay Area will likely offer concessions to buyer agents in order to sell their home for top dollar 💵
