  GUIYANG, Jan. 17 (#huajianggorgebridge ) With the last section of steel trusses weighing about 215 tons accurately hoisted to the designated location, the world's tallest bridge under construction, the Huajiang Gorge Bridge, was successfully closed on the 17th, laying a solid foundation for its opening to traffic this year.

  The Huajiang Gorge Bridge is named after the Huajiang Grand Canyon, which is known as the "crack in the earth", and is a controlling project of the Liuzhi to Anlong Expressway in Guizhou Province.

  According to the project data, the bridge is a steel truss suspension bridge with a total length of 2,890 meters, of which the main bridge span is 1,420 meters and the height from the bridge deck to the water surface is 625 meters. After completion, it will become the new world's tallest bridge and the world's first mountain span bridge.

  The project was invested and constructed by Guizhou Transportation Investment Group Co., Ltd. Since the construction started in January 2022, the construction team has overcome difficult challenges such as complex terrain and changeable climate, and has successively achieved important construction nodes such as the capping of bridge towers on both sides and the completion of main cable installation.

  It is understood that the steel truss girder hoisting completed this time is divided into 93 sections, with a total weight of more than 21,000 tons, which is an important part of the main structure construction of the bridge. The bridge will also carry out main cable winding and painting operations, and install steel beams and bridge deck auxiliary structures at the same time.

  "The bridge spans the Beipan River, where the mountains are high and the valleys are deep, and there are no conditions for vertical transportation. In order to complete the lifting of the steel trusses, we are equipped with the world's largest span cable lifting system." Wu Chaoming, chief engineer of the third branch of Guizhou Bridge Group and project manager of Lu'an Section 8, said that the entire cable lifting system consists of a transportation system, a lifting system, an intelligent monitoring system, etc., which effectively solved technical problems such as large lifting span and heavy lifting weight.

  As the only province in China without plains, Guizhou has built roads through mountains and bridges over rivers in recent years, and has built more than 30,000 bridges across 1.26 million mountaintops. Currently, nearly half of the top 100 high bridges in the world are in Guizhou.

  花江峡谷大桥因跨越被誉为“地球裂缝”的花江大峡谷而得名，是贵州省六枝至安龙高速公路的控制性工程。

项目资料显示，大桥为钢桁梁悬索桥，全长2890米，其中主桥跨径1420米，桥面至水面高度625米。建成后，会成为新的世界第一高桥、世界第一的山区跨径桥梁。

  工程由贵州交通投资集团有限公司投资建设。自2022年1月开工建设以来，建设团队克服地形复杂、气候多变等困难挑战，接连实现两岸桥塔封顶、主缆架设完成等重要施工节点。

  据了解，此次完成的钢桁梁吊装共分93个节段，梁段总重量达2.1万余吨，属于桥梁主体结构施工的重要组成部分。后续大桥还将进行主缆
