Mangesh Pawar Elected as Belagavi Mayor, Vani Vilas Joshi as Deputy Mayor

बेळगाव महानगरपालिकेच्या २३ व्या कार्यकाळासाठी महापौर म्हणून मंगेश पवार आणि उपमहापौर म्हणून वाणी विलास जोशी यांची निवड करण्यात आली, अशी घोषणा प्रादेशिक आयुक्त अशोक शेट्टण्णवर यांनी केली.

शनिवारी बेळगाव महानगरपालिकेच्या कौन्सिल सभागृहात महापौर व उपमहापौर निवडणूक हात वर करून मतदानाद्वारे पार पडली.

महापौर पदासाठी मंगेश पवार, राजू भातकांडे, मारुती मोदगेकर आणि शाहीद खान पठाण यांनी उमेदवारी अर्ज सादर केले होते. मात्र, राजू भातकांडे आणि शाहीद खान पठाण यांनी अर्ज मागे घेतले.
त्यानंतर झालेल्या निवडणुकीत मंगेश पवार यांनी मारुती मोदगेकर यांच्यावर ४० मतांनी विजय मिळवून महापौरपद पटकावले.
Regional Commissioner Ashok Shettannavar announced that Mangesh Pawar has been elected as the Mayor and Vani Vilas Joshi as the Deputy Mayor for the 23rd term of the Belagavi City Corporation.

The election was conducted on Saturday in the council hall of the Belagavi City Corporation through a show of hands.

Four candidates—Mangesh Pawar, Raju Bhatkande, Maruti Modagekar, and Shahid Khan Pathan—had filed nominations for the Mayor’s post. However, Raju Bhatkande and Shahid Khan Pathan withdrew their nominations. Mangesh Pawar secured 40 votes against Maruti Modagekar and was declared the Mayor.

For the Deputy Mayor's position, Vani Vilas Joshi contested against Lakshmi Lokari and won with 40 votes.
