Andrew Hutson on Finding Purpose in a Mission-Driven Job

In Chapter 8 of 23 in his 2014 Capture Your Flag interview, environmental advocate Andrew Hutson answers "What Do You Enjoy Most About What You Do?" Hutson shares how he enjoys being part of a mission-driven organization. He finds working in a mission-focused role in environmental advocacy gives him purpose. Working on important work also provides him happiness as well as a connection to a brother working in public service as a prosecuting attorney. Andrew Hutson is an environmental advocate at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), where he is currently Director, Value Chain Initiatives. Hutson earned a PhD in Public Policy from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Masters in Environment Management (MEM) from Duke University and a BA in International Relations from Michigan State University.
