The University of Michigan School of Dentistry offers a Mini-Residency in dental sleep medicine for licensed dentists, providing over 100 hours of continuing education credit. The program helps expand participants’ understanding of dental sleep medicine, competence to treat sleep-related breathing disorders with custom oral appliance therapy, and confidence working with patients, physicians, and medical insurance. This clinically-focused, evidence-based program is divided into two parts transpiring over a 1-year time period.
The Mini-Residency is accredited by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). Participants successfully completing the program will be eligible to take the board to become Diplomates of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
