Apollo VIII - KSP Cinematic

Apollo VIII (Apollo 8) took place between December 21-27th of 1968 and marked the first time humans a ventured beyond Low Earth Orbit and entered orbit around the Moon paving the way for the Apollo XI (Apollo 11) moon landing in 1969.

The Launch of the Mighty Saturn V rocket for the Apollo 8 mission (SA-503) took place at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Launch Complex 39A.

The crew reached the moon on Christmas Eve and spent 10 hours orbiting it and then returned home and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean 3 days later and we picked up by the USS Yorktown (CV-10) Aircraft Carrier.
