문재인 대통령 취임사 / YTN | The New President Moon Jae-in

I solemnly swear
that I will uphold the Constitution,
protect the nation, work towards a peaceful unification,
work for the freedom and welfare of the people,
work to develop the culture of our people,
and faithfully perform the duties of the president.
I solemnly swear this before the nation.

My respected and beloved fellow Koreans, thank you.
By your gracious selection, I bow my head with deep appreciation.
I stand before you today as the 19th president of Korea.
and have taken my first step towards a new Korea.
My shoulders are heavy with the important responsibilities
that have been bestowed by my fellow Koreans.
My heart is burning with a passion to create a nation,
something I have never attempted before.
And my mind is filled with blueprints on how to create
a new world of unification and coexistence.
The new Korea that we are trying to create
is the nation that our ancestors desired to create
despite the countless adversities and defeats that they faced.
Also through countless sacrifice and devotion,
it is the nation that our youth wanted to achieve.
In order to create such a Korea,
I stand before our history and our people, with a fearful yet humble heart,
as the nation's 19th president, who swears
to do his utmost to fulfill his duties and summons.
I express deep consolation and gratitude to my fellow candidates.
There are no winners or losers of this election.
We are all partners who must create a new Korea.
We must put aside the fierce rivalries and join hands to move forward.
My respected fellow Koreans,
we experienced unprecedented political changes over the past few months.
The politics were in chaos but the people stood firm.
Even with the impeachment and imprisonment of the former president,
the people opened up the future of Korea.
The people did not despair and rather,
used this opportunity as a blessing in disguise.
Today they have opened up a new world.
The greatness of Korea is the greatness of its people.
And during this presidential election, our people created a new history.
Citizens from every part of the nation
stepped forth to nominate a new president in fairness.
As of today, I will be a president that represents everyone.
Each and every one of those who did not support me are my citizens...(ellipsis)
