Croatia, a gem along the Adriatic Sea, is known for its stunning coastlines and historic cities like Dubrovnik. However, many people don’t realize that Croatia has over 1,200 islands, only about 50 of which are inhabited.
The country is also home to one of the world’s smallest towns, Hum, with a population of around 20 people. Croatia is the birthplace of the necktie (or cravat), which originated from Croatian soldiers in the 17th century.
Additionally, the country has a rich winemaking tradition dating back over 2,000 years, with unique indigenous grape varieties found nowhere else in the world.
