Andrew Hutson on How to Give Your Spouse Better Career Support

In Chapter 6 of 23 in his 2014 Capture Your Flag interview, environmental advocate Andrew Hutson answers "What Approaches Have You Found Most Useful in Supporting Your Spouse's Career?" Hutson shares how he learning to give his wife, a fiction writer, space she needs to succeed professionally. He notes supporting his wife's career is about being considerate and knowing each partner has moments where they need to step back so the other may succeed. Andrew Hutson is an environmental advocate at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), where he is currently Director, Value Chain Initiatives. Hutson earned a PhD in Public Policy from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Masters in Environment Management (MEM) from Duke University and a BA in International Relations from Michigan State University.
