One of the most common child custody mistakes people make in the courtroom is thinking they’ve lost before they’ve even started! I’m Wendy Hernandez, creator of Command the Courtroom, and my mission is to save as many people as possible from making devastating mistakes in child custody cases. Your child custody battle is overwhelming, but there are things within your control. One of the child custody mistakes to avoid is having a negative mindset and having a victim mentality. Some of the best (non-legal) child custody advice I must give to you is to recommend shifting your perspective! If you are committed to doing everything in your power in the interest of winning child custody, let me tell you what you should do in your child custody case: Be accountable for your current situation without blaming others. Own your power. Don’t say that the system is biased against moms, dads, etc. and just give up. If you give up, that is one of the biggest mistakes that will stop you from winning a custody case. Winning a custody battle is not easy, but it is even more difficult if you argue for your limitations vs. fighting for your future potential! Whether you are fighting for child custody without a lawyer or with a lawyer, child custody court can be intimidating and overwhelming. Don’t give up before the buzzer sounds because you don’t know what twists and turns might happen in the child custody court that might be in your favor. One of the common family law court mistakes people make is burying their heads in the stand and not being active in their own cases. Another one of the most frequently made custody battle mistakes is saying you will NEVER win because the system or the judge is biased. Don’t give up! For more information on how to avoid child custody mistakes, watch the other hundreds of videos on the Command the Courtroom You Tube channel. See you soon!
