Mars Polar Lander - KSP Cinematic

NASA's Mars Polar Lander also known as the Mars Surveyor 98 Lander was a robotic spacecraft which was designed to study the soil and climate of Planum Australe, a region near the south pole on Mars.

The Mars Polar Lander was launched on board a Delta II 7425 from Space Launch Complex 17A at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on January 3, 1999.

On December 3, 1999 after 11 months of traveling through space MPL began it's decent to the martian surface but unfortunately the lander crashed.
