How to Use PBR Textures!
📥 Step 1: Download the PBR Texture from Poly Haven
1️⃣ Go to Poly Haven → Click on Textures.
2️⃣ Select the texture you want (Metal, Plastic, Fabric, etc.).
3️⃣ Choose the resolution (2K, 4K, or 8K).
4️⃣ Click Download (Make sure to get the .ZIP file with all PBR maps).
🎨 Step 2: Import into Blender
1️⃣ Open Blender and switch to the Shading tab.
2️⃣ Select your object, then click New Material.
3️⃣ In the Shader Editor, add a Principled BSDF Shader (it’s the default shader).
📌 Step 3: Connect the PBR Textures
Inside the Shader Editor, do this:
✔️ Base Color: Connect the diffuse/albedo texture → Base Color input.
✔️ Roughness: Connect the roughness texture → Roughness input.
✔️ Normal Map:
Add a Normal Map node (Shift + A → Search: Normal Map).
Connect the normal texture → Normal Map node.
Connect Normal Map node → Normal input of the Principled BSDF.
✔️ Displacement (Optional):
Add a Displacement node (Shift + A → Search: Displacement).
Connect displacement texture to it if you're using Displacement mapping (Only works in Cycles with adaptive subdivision).
🛠️ Step 4: Adjust and Preview
1️⃣ Switch to Material Preview to see the results.
2️⃣ Tweak the Roughness, Metallic, and Normal strength to get the desired look.
3️⃣ If using Cycles, enable Adaptive Subdivision in the Material Settings for better displacement.
🔥 Bonus: Faster Workflow with Node Wrangler
If you have the Node Wrangler Add-on enabled:
✔️ Select the Principled BSDF Shader.
✔️ Press Ctrl + Shift + T → Select all PBR textures.
✔️ Blender will auto-connect them correctly! 🚀
