When Fatima Malik first became pregnant, she never expected that prenatal visits would lead to a life-changing diagnosis. During pregnancy, a routine pap smear detected abnormal cells—leading to an HPV (human papillomavirus) diagnosis and, ultimately, cervical cancer.
In many communities, discussions around reproductive health are often avoided, but Fatima feels it's crucial to raise awareness about HPV, its risks, and the importance of early detection. She encourages others to prioritize their health, get screened regularly, and consider the HPV vaccine for themselves and their children.
