The Turkey Day 5k in Columbia, South Carolina took place on Thanksgiving Day. The original route was moved from the downtown area passing through parts of the University of South Carolina to the Shandon neighborhood with its relatively flat roads speckled with only a few hills to vary up people's paces.
Even with the current conditions of the pandemic, hundreds of people came out for the race to support the Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands. Rules were in place for participants to include wearing a face covering at the start line until that person actually started and had to put the covering back on after crossing the finish line.
