LICOKLOR SUSPENSION - Medicine to treat typhoid, paratyphoid and for severe infections

Licoklor is used as the first option to treat typhoid, paratyphoid and for severe infections caused by: Salmonella sp., H. influenzae (especially meningeal infections). Lymphogranuloma-Psittachosis, a gram negative that causes bacterial meningitis.

COMPOSITION

Each measuring spoonful (5 ml) contains:
Chloramphenicol palmitate is equivalent to 125 mg of Chloramphenicol.

SIDE EFFECTS

Chloramphenicol can cause suppression of bone marrow activity in the form of pancytopenia so that blood dyscrasia occurs, it can be aplastic anemia.
Chloramphenicol can cause gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
The onset of hypersensitivity reactions.
The occurrence of "Grey Syndrome" in newborns, especially babies born prematurely.
