Snowbirds are Americans and Canadians who often "fly south" for the winter to escape the coldest months of the year in a warmer climate. This often involves owning and maintaining a second home, which can be expensive and a burden. Plus, it's becoming increasingly difficult for Canadians to travel to the U.S. under the current political climate.
We'd like to suggest an alternative to this traditional approach to snowbirding and consider world travel instead. Save yourself maintenance headaches and instead create lasting memories in beautiful places throughout the world.
We lay out three different scenarios that uses the money that would be used to pay on a mortgage and home maintenance for a vacation home and apply it to travel. We share ideas of warmer destinations that offer culture and excitement. This is the plan we've been following this winter and it's been amazing!
