IARC Monographs exhibition

Welcome to the IARC Monographs photograph exhibition, a celebration of 50 years of the
IARC Monographs programme and the ongoing quest to identify the causes of cancer.
The original objective of the programme was to create a “compendium of carcinogenic chemicals” prepared by independent experts to serve as a reference for public health agencies. The IARC Monographs evaluations are trusted worldwide due to their transparency and freedom from
conflicts of interest. The programme’s 50-year history is a testament to IARC’s unwavering dedication to identifying preventable causes of human cancer in order to reduce the global burden of cancer.
This exhibit will present the breadth of the work of the IARC Monographs programme by highlighting a selection of agents that have been evaluated for their potential to cause cancer in humans and some of the impact these evaluations have had in the wider world.
