Associate Professor Johan Verbeeks’ engineering innovation turns protein byproducts from the meat industry into plastics suitable for replacing single-use products. Since winning “(the) Kudos Entrepreneurship Award” in 2011, Verbeek’s technology has continued to thrive and his team is working toward developing 2-3 new compostable products in the future.
