'The most uplifting story of my life' #shorts #Dateline40 #philippines

Dateline is celebrating our 40th anniversary and we want to take you behind the scenes of some of our most daring stories.

In 2010, while on assignment in Manila, former Dateline VJ Mark Davis discovered that one of the quickest ways to get around the city was on a makeshift trolley on the railway line, dodging between trains. He met a community of people who made a living by driving trolleys, and it would become what he described as 'the most uplifting story of my life.'

This interview originally appeared in Dateline's 30th anniversary episode, which aired in 2014.
