After coming back to Instagram from my break, I saw SO many comments from you guys about how the Instagram algorithm (more than any other platform) keeps you, creators, in what feels like a constant state of hustle!
With all the different features you feel like you HAVE to use and pressure to keep up with trends, it’s easy to let your own mental health and boundaries with technology suffer.
As someone who struggles with anxiety and panic attacks, and has had to have too many hospital visits to learn that stress is a BIG DEAL on your overall health. I will be vocal about telling you: mental health MATTERS and protection from burnout will always be something that matters to me (no matter the platform!)
Here’s a few ways to protect your mental health while staying active as a creator on Instagram:
1️⃣ Self-care. LOTS OF IT. Dedicate at least one day a week to unplug. This day is about YOU—no serving others, just yourself. I used to think “self-care” was just lying on the couch and scrolling through IG... oh, how wrong I was! 😅
If you’re exuding X amount of energy, make sure you’re recharging that same amount!
2️⃣ Be realistic. Set boundaries. Learn to say NO and give yourself grace. I was a total people pleaser (maybe it’s a “being raised in church” thing? But that’s a story for another time). Stop spreading yourself too thin! It’s OKAY to not post every day, or miss a day.
3️⃣ Batch content. This productivity hack has saved me so much stress! By focusing on one task at a time, I stay ahead and keep my sanity.
PRO TIP: If you have a cycle, learning to work WITH your cycle brings productivity to a whole other level!!
What are some things you love to do to relax and recharge? 💆♀
