SpaceX Demolished High Bay! Major Launchpad B Upgrade Ramp up...
Radical change is inevitable for Starbase as Starship enters its next era. No structure is exempt, even those that have played a crucial role in the past. The High Bay, the smallest structure at the current Production Site, will soon be dismantled to make way for larger, more advanced systems.
Meanwhile, construction of the new launch pad is accelerating, signaling SpaceX’s commitment to scaling up operations. At the same time, the first details about Starship V3 have begun to emerge, hinting at the next major leap in the vehicle’s evolution.
How are these changes unfolding, and what do they mean for the future of Starship? Let’s dive in and explore the latest developments!

For those who have followed Starship’s journey from the beginning, the evolution of Starbase—from its production facilities to its launch infrastructure—has been nothing short of remarkable. Now, another major transformation is on the horizon, one that will reshape the production site once again.
The production system at Starbase has undergone dramatic changes over the years. In the early days, the site was defined by structures like Mid Bay, Low Bay, and the original Production Tents, which played a crucial role in the early development of Starship prototypes. At that time, High Bay was the largest and most prominent facility, towering over the rest of the site. It was essential for assembling and stacking the first Super Heavy boosters and early Starship prototypes. However, as SpaceX scaled up operations, newer and larger facilities such as Mega Bay, Mega Bay 2, and the ever-expanding Starfactory emerged, rendering High Bay the smallest major structure in the system. With the company’s ambitious plans for the future, High Bay’s time has come to an end.

Recently, SpaceX fenced off the ring yard area of the production site, setting up guard booths and clearing the way for High Bay’s demolition. Unlike the previous dismantling of smaller structures, removing High Bay will be a much larger and more complex process. If work begins this week, demolition could be completed as soon as next week. After that, the area will be cleared and prepared for the construction of a more advanced and larger facility to replace it.
Before we say goodbye, it’s worth reflecting on the immense contributions of High Bay. Built between June and July 2020, the facility stands 80 meters tall, designed to accommodate the towering 70-meter Super Heavy booster. With a width and depth of 20 to 25 meters, it provided enough space to assemble multiple prototypes simultaneously.
