Mozhai Wujiang Bridge is a key control project of Chongqing-Xiangyang Expressway (Pengshui to Xiyang Section). The bridge crosses Wujiang River and G211 National Road, with a total length of 708 meters. The main bridge is 602 meters long. The main bridge tower adopts rectangular reinforced concrete tower. The main tower is 44 meters high and the tower end is 13.5 meters high. It is a double-tower, three-span, low-tower cable-stayed bridge. On October 17, the Mozhai Wujiang Bridge on the Chongqing-Hunan Double Line Expressway completed the bridge load test.

Mozhai Wujiang Bridge is a key control project of Chongqing-Hunan Double Line Expressway (Pengshui to Youyang Section). The bridge crosses Wujiang River and G211 National Highway, with a total length of 708 meters and a main bridge length of 602 meters. It is a double-tower, three-span, low-tower cable-stayed bridge. Among them, the No. 3 main pier is 216 meters high, the highest pier of the same type in Asia.

"The load test is the last 'physical examination' before the bridge is opened to traffic. The load test can verify whether the bearing capacity of the bridge structure and its working status meet the design and relevant specifications, and ensure the reliability of bridge operation." Yu Tao, project manager of China Railway Construction Ports and Navigation Bureau, introduced that the preparation work for the load test of Mozhai Wujiang Bridge began on October 8, which is divided into bridge status test, static load test and dynamic load test.

The static load test has 20 test conditions, using a 35-ton double rear axle truck for loading, with a maximum of 18 trucks loaded at a time, and a maximum total loading weight of 630 tons. To avoid the impact of temperature differences on the load test data, this load test was scheduled to be carried out during a period of relatively stable temperature.


The Mozhai Wujiang Bridge on the Chongqing-Hunan Expressway is located in Hanjia Street, Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County, Chongqing.
