WOLFMAN'S GOT NARDS!

This Thursday is Halloween, and we will be stirring up some scares at the historic #babcocktheatre with a special screening of Fred Dekker's terrific 1987 horror comedy, THE MONSTER SQUAD, which will conclude our fantastically frightening October series, the UNIVERSAL MONSTER MASH! Technically not a Universal picture, this film from TriStar is the real icing on the cake for any collection of creature features, wrangling up the most famous of the movie monsters for one last hurrah in a seriously entertaining thrill ride that is still delightfully fun and scary nearly 40 years later! In an ordinary town, there's a group of young teens who don't fit in with the other kids, so they for a club where they find comradery and entertainment in their shared affinity for old monster movies, dubbing themselves THE MONSTER SQUAD. When the legendary Count Dracula is revived, he assembles a team of iconic monsters from around the world to do his bidding as they search for a mystical amulet that would give him the power to rule over the world! As the monsters close in on the amulet that is residing in the very same town as the Monster Squad, Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Gillman wreak havoc on the town as they continue their search. With the teens being the only ones willing to believe the fantastic circumstances of the situation, their knowledge on dealing with supernatural creatures stands as the last line of defense against Dracula's sinister plot!
