Today we walked at Jao Tsung-I Academy, the historic site which has served different purposes over the past 130 years with its purposes changed with the needs of Hong Kong – as a hospital, a customs station, dwelling for Chinese labourers, a quarantine station, a prison, an infectious diseases hospital, and a psychiatric rehabilitation centre. Its unique location and structures has meant the site has been able to respond to the changing needs of society. During the spring time we can enjoy the beautiful flowers and relaxing atmosphere of the site.
