Sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to recharge, leaving you refreshed and alert. Students should get the proper amount of sleep at night to help stay focused, improve concentration, and improve academic performance. Set a bed time goal to completely disconnect from your phone, social media, TV, and everything that produces blue light. Create good bedtime habits and eat a balanced meal at least two hours before your bed time. Eating healthy carbohydrates may boost tryptophan and serotonin, two brain chemicals necessary for achieving quality restful sleep.
