🚨 BREAKING: Quebec Extends LMIA Suspension & Expands to Laval! 🚨
Quebec has officially extended the suspension of low-wage LMIA applications under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) until November 30, 2025. And now, this restriction isn’t just for Montreal—it’s expanding to Laval, starting March 3, 2025!
If you’re applying for an LMIA for a low-wage job (under $27.47/hr) in Montreal or Laval, your application WILL NOT be processed during this suspension.
⚠️ Who is NOT affected?
✅ Employers in Agriculture, Construction, Food Processing, Education, and Healthcare
✅ Approved LMIAs or applications submitted before September 3, 2024
The Federal Government is also restricting LMIA applications for low-wage jobs in high-unemployment areas, with the next update coming on April 4, 2025.
