So far, you've been working with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. You've even probably seen fractions of a number line. So don't get nervous if you start seeing fractions on a line plot! You already know that line plots are a way to display data, and in the real world, there are fractions all around us. In this video, we'll look at some real world scenarios with fractions, and display and interpret the data in the line plot. Let's go!

5.MD.B.2: Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
