‘Unbelievable’: Australian embassy in US spends almost $1 million on five pieces of art

Senator Pauline Hanson has slammed the government for the “unbelievable” amount of money they have “wasted” on arts programs.

Federal government departments have spent $650,000 on artwork, dance performances and exhibitions in the past year, while the Australian embassy in the United States spent almost $1 million on five pieces of art.

“The amount of money that they have wasted in the arts programs is unbelievable,” Ms Hanson told Sky News host James Macpherson.

“It just disgusts me, absolutely disgusts me.”
