Death Valley National Park is the current record holder for the hottest place on Earth, coming in at a whopping 134 degrees Fahrenheit on July 10, 1913. (Click the link in my bio to learn more mind-blowing facts about this place!)

It’s no surprise that Death Valley is also one of the driest places on Earth, receiving less than 2 inches of precipitation per year. In fact, no rain was recorded here in the years of 1929 and 1953. 🤯

We easily could have been annoyed that it rained the ONE day we were at the park’s Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, but instead we framed it as an incredible sight that very few people get to see.

If you want to try your shot at seeing Death Valley National Park in the rain, visit in February (rainiest month on average) or January (second rainiest month on average).

Would you visit Death Valley, California, in the rain?
