The government will publish an annual report on its sustainability efforts, starting from the new financial year in April. This is to take the lead in Singapore's decarbonisation journey, and encourage more firms to track and plan towards more sustainable business practices. Other government agencies and statutory boards will follow suit from FY2024. From FY2024, the government will also consider the sustainability practices of firms that they buy from, starting with tenders in construction and infocomm technology, which make up over 60% of government procurement contracts.
