Max Kay eulogy by son Gary Kay

The Perth Theatre Trust presented a Memorial for Max Kay on Saturday, 22 June 2019 at His Majesty's Theatre, Perth.

The theatre was packed with family, friends and patrons to celebrate the life of one of Perth’s most-loved entertainers.

The 82-year-old died earlier this month in hospital from complications after contracting pneumonia.

Earlier in the week, Max was farewelled in a simple private funeral at Karrakatta cemetery.

The memorial was opened with a performance by the Rockingham City Pipe Band, paying homage to Kay’s Scottish heritage.

Jenny Seaton was the MC.

Kay’s son Gary read his father’s eulogy and said despite having a private funeral the family knew more had to be done to honour the entertainment icon and loving father and grandfather.
