Thanks much for these very helpful videos. I'm a football player with 35 years of experience (as a player) and i start now my coaching career. As a new coach i will have the U12 Team for my first coach season this year, so all these will be very useful.
Hey Coach Rory, I am really enjoying this new series. I did this with my rec team (7v7 to 9v9) (2-3-1 to 4-3-1) a year ago with the help of your other content and it helped me be a better coach and kids adopted well. My team is in 5th grade now and have to play 11v11 with 8'x24' goals. The fall season started last week. We transitioned from 4-3-1 to a 3-5-2 because we have fast wings and an exceptional attacking mid which helps overwhelm the opponents defense. That said I would like to see a Transition 9v9 to 11v11 series if possible. Thanks for all your help and dedication to the sport and helping coaches everywhere!
Hi Coach - Love your content! Use it all the time. Question about attacking patterns: How would you plan your practice session(s) to teach these? I coach a pretty high level U11 girls team, and I’m struggling to visualize how my practice session would look with teaching this. Thanks for any input!
Thank you Coach!
First let me say I love your channel and use your instruction in many of my practices. I’m just curious though about offsides. Example in attacking pattern 1a you end up having 3-4 players past the last defender on the other team. If the pass is made from the wing to a player already past the line it’s an offsides call. How do you avoid getting called on offsides all the time?
Will you be doing any videos on transitioning from 9v9 to 11v11 and what aspects of the game to focus on/prioritize?
Hi Coach, great content as always. I notice in your older 9v9 attacking videos you held the full back on the non attacking side to stop the counter attack, but now you have him going to the far post. What's the reasoning behind this? Are you relying more on the 6 now to bolster the counter attack with the CBs?
Should I be concerned about my child’s development as a player if they are only allowed to play one position? Really good at that position so I get it in tight games. But my kid isnt even getting to play another position in practice games, while the rest of the team rotates at least 2 positions.
