@akumaruta3482

Thank you for addressing the negativity around Vidbir. It was really frustrating to see all those comments because, honestly, I don’t think this year’s selection is bad at all. There are some really nice songs, and we all know that with the right staging, they’ll shine even more. It’s not about wanting my country to be on top all the time—I just want people to appreciate our music and recognize the talented Ukrainian artists who continue to create beautiful songs despite the war.

@PersonaNG-oo7ku

Listening to "Salt" makes me feel deeply Eastern European xD It's hard to explain, but there's something about this genre, mixed with the visuals in the video, and the Ukrainian language that speaks to my soul. It just perfectly fits the vibe of out part of the world, somehow.

@omegothic

thank you for being so kind here! i am so sick of the eurovision fandom this season. they want us to not qualify so bad. and this vidbir is literally so good... ziferblat stole my heart and dk energetyk is amazing too.

@АннаКомзюк-о1м

Hey Maxxy, thanks for the reaction. It is a random running order, participants were pulling cards with numbers from a pot, this is what they do every year in Vidbir. Totally agree with you about the negativity online, but speaking specifically of Vidbir, for me it looks like Ukraine is at this point in their eurovision history where people just simply want to see them fail just because. This is a small minority of people of course, but they are just waiting for Ukraine to do bad, that`s why we keep getting comments like 'this will be their first nq' etc

@Arty94080

Hi from Ukraine and thank you so much for such a great heartwarming reaction, wish you all the best! 💫☺

@jambu3903

Finally someone appreciates DK ❤

@ЯринаТерлецька-ф2ъ

As a Ukrainian I really loved your comment about the whole “non political rule” in Eurovision. Yes our everyday experience is war and we simply cannot send a silly song without mentioning the war at least in some way. That would just feel very wrong. Thank you so much for pointing it out🙏🙏🙏🙏

@Hannaenko

Thank you for your disclaimer about war in the everyday live of people. Any form of art reflects events, emotions, or pain points of people who live in that society. It would be strange if people who feel anxiety, fear, and pain would be singing about pink ponies. Everyone have someone who died, lost home, civilians who didn't die from missile attacks but "suffered" could lose their limbs or be the only survival from their family. All this songs about war even if you couldn't see it at first.
Abie song is manifest against women abuse. She was volunteering and helping women from occupied territories.
 Molodi doesn't resonate with the majority of international viewers but it definitely will be a hit in Ukraine. They are from Mariupol on the sea that was destroyed and they literally sing about their sea and home that they lost literally.

@renisenb

I was really looking forward to your reaction. Since you liked DK Energetik, you might want to listen to more from this genre (by the way, it’s post-punk). So, I recommend you Sadsvit (his first album is more melancholic, but overall, he’s not as gloomy as DK Energetik), Анастимоза (post-punk, in general, has very few women, so a female voice in this genre sounds unique) and Sudno(they are more similar to DK Energetik). All of these artists had songs featured in the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which gave them a surge in popularity some time ago.

@chriswhite9399

You are so eloquent and explained how war and politics bleed into music so beautifully x

@larysacherner312

Hi Maxxy! 💙💛 I was waiting for your reaction. Thank you very much for your support, your thoughts and perspective shared. I completely agree on the toxicity of the ESC fandom that has become really unpleasant and over the top in the past few years. We definitely need more positivity and effort not to plunge into the negativity especially now in these dark days.
Warmest regards and best wishes from 🇺🇦!

@MaxxyRainbowESC

Sorry for this being so late you guys!! I’m in Finland right now for UMK so I have so so much going on but I’m having the time of my life vlogging everything for you guys to see later!!

@miss.esteemed

I like this selection because of its diversity, and I like it so much, even though many reviewers did not like this selection of songs. But for me, as a Ukrainian, it is very important because of the different choices, it is a reflection of our preferences in music. The kind of lyrics it is full of, its sound. Honestly, I often cry listening to some of the songs from the selection

@mio.vision

I love "Sil" - one of my two favorite songs of the Eurovision Nation Final Season. The lyrics are excellent (possibly the best lyrics of the year).

@this_is_not_ivan

Thank you for this reaction, it was very fun to watch! Also, love your look and your takes on the songs. Sending good vibes from Ukraine 💙💛

@denkwai

Couldn't wait for your reaction 💗

The producer of the show changed and this year and it's Tina Karol who's in charge :) that's why Vidbir feels different from the last few years.

Many people are surprised to see a post-punk band like DK Enerhetyk in selection, but they were included primarily because this music genre is on a huge rise in Ukraine among youth and armed forces, and I can't blame Tina for wanting to include their music tastes as a part of the music representation of our country.

Overall, good selection of songs. As Ukrainian, I don't feel offended or underrepresented by any of them.

And great reaction, thanks a lot 💕

@mathlexx

I have to agree. Ukraine it's been my favourite country in Eurovision for many years.

@wheat-haired

Amazing reaction

Sending love ❤

@yanalovecraft5373

Thank you for your reaction❤ with love and big hugs from Ukraine🥰

@Блискавкацезмія

I enjoyed your reaction! And thank you so much for your remarks that during the war it is difficult to sing and present something cheerful and carefree. Thank you for your understanding!
