When I feel low I listen to Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, Sum 41, Blink 182, Green Day and other bands which give me such a warm nostalgic feeling..it cheers me up
I’m 32 years old and finally going to be able to see and hear simple plan live, so excited and can’t wait!! Sound track to my life growing up!!
15 years go by, this song never dies.
The saddest part about this song is the fact that now, 14 years after I first stumbled upon this song, I am still battling the same thing: self-hate and depression. Nothing has changed. Stay strong everyone.
So glad this was this music I grew up to! Nostalgia
I'm 28, and this song still makes me cry because it hits so personally.
I remember, listening to this band, Simple Plan, back in 2005, when I was in a band. I knew they were onto something. Their videos, now have millions of views... Simple Is Best, even in 2024
Don't worry. You're not the only one listening this masterpiece in 2024.
To all the people listening to this for the first time: This song saved so many lives from suicide back in the day. I know because it saved me.
'When you're happy, you enjoy the music but when you're sad, you understand the lyrics."
To be 30 with a house and decent job, and this still hits as hard as when you were 13. To still feel just as lost.
Who ever thought that as an adult this song would have so much more meaning?
Lyrics: Do you ever feel like breaking down? Do you ever feel out of place? Like somehow you just don't belong And no one understands you Do you ever want to run away? Do you lock yourself in your room? With the radio on turned up so loud That no one hears you screaming No you don't know what its like When nothing feels alright You don't know what its like to be like me To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one there to save you No you don't know what its like Welcome to my life Do you want to be somebody else? Are you sick of feeling so left out? Are you desperate to find something more Before your life is over Are you stuck inside a world you hate? Are you sick of everyone around? With the big fake smiles and stupid lies But deep inside you're bleeding No you don't know what its like When nothing feels alright You don't know what its like to be like me To be hurt To feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one there to save you No you don't know what its like Welcome to my life No one ever lied straight to your face And no one ever stabbed you in the back You might think I'm happy But I'm not gonna be okay Everybody always gave you what you wanted You never had to work it was always there You don't know what its like What its like To be hurt To feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one there to save you No you don't know what its like What its like To be hurt To feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No you don't know what its like Welcome to my life Welcome to my life Welcome to my life
The first time I listened this song I was 15 in my room crying and very depressed, thinking how to end my life. Today I’m in my apartment , with my cat on my lap, buying tickets to Simple Plan’s concert with the love of my life. Just glad to see how music saved my days so far ❤
They captured my youth. Bounced from home to home. They kept me going as a teenager. Successful, getting my degree, and helping others. Thanks guys! ❤
2020 and still listening because it stands true today more than it has ever before.
I feel sorry for kids who didn't grew up on this era of music.
When you're a depressend teenager 12 years ago then all of a sudden, simple plan released this song and YES WE ARE STILL ALIVE AND WAKING UP EVERYDAY. Thank you for making us feel understood <3
First time I ever hear this song, isn't it crazy that's the exact same feeling for so many millions of teenagers? Including me of course back when I was a teen.
