π₯°π₯° Love love love working with you!!
Just wanted to say that I am relatively new to your channel and have only been watching for a few months since I started my MA in Early Modern History in September but that you have provided a real lifeline for me and I canβt thank you enough π Loving the long form videos and am honestly just so inspired to watch you navigating the day to day juggle of life, study, work and health etc. Wishing you all the best and thank you for sharing what you do β€οΈ
I'm happy to hear you are making progress in your dissertation. Can't wait for the archive videos. You got this, take care of yourself.
I would love a desk set-up tour. also, seeing how your business has grown over the years is truly inspiring!
I always love seeing your videos! Thank you for sharing them. I hope things get better soon. Figuring out the future is hard. Finding time for everything is, too - I feel you there! FT work that is bananas right now (everything hitting at once) and FT school makes it hard to prioritize. 3 months until graduation, though! I'm glad to hear the dissertation is going well! I hit the next milestone on mine last weekend (ours is only 25 pages - I'm sure yours is a lot longer) and I feel there is a lot of good information there, but I feel like it's scatterbrained. Maybe it's just me, I hope. I'll meet with my professor and see. But Yay for dissertation progress! :)
As someone who's written a PhD diss and several novels, getting into a solid writing routine takes time. I taught while doing my diss and I work full time now while I write my novels, so writing has never been my full time thing. I usually have a few goals in mind and try to accomplish at least one. So like, I'll have a time based goal and a word count goal. I might say I'm going to write for 1 hour every day Mon-Fri and I'm going to try to write 1k words each day. Some days I hit the time goal other days I hit the word goal and some days I don't meet either goal but I tried and that's just as important. I've always struggled with "all or nothing" mentality, and I'm trying to break that. So even if I know I can only do 20 minutes or 200 words, that's still more than what I'd have if I didn't do anything. Also, I hear you on trying to scale back and avoid burnout. I put my coaching business on pause and hoped that'd be enough, but I still feel exhausted. It's been several years since I finished my PhD and I feel like PhD burnout combined with burnout from trying to do so much since graduating. My body is definitely telling me to slow down but I don't know how without giving up things that make me happy. Really enjoyed this vlog Kaelyn, I love seeing your life in London and hearing you dealing with similar things helps me feel less alone. :)
you really inspire me kaelyn <3333
I totally relate to wanting to find a new read and then being like "wait why is everything in my library super depressing?" I value literature as art, and art inevitably hits all the range of human emotion, but in these cray times sometimes I'm just like "pls i need to disengage for just 2 seconds"
Would love an updated video about daily priorities and weekly planning!
I see burnout in the title and I think the internet is trying to tell me something. Perfect video for today
love your videos! (: they help me stay motivated to work on my capstone! I was wondering where you got your wooden keyboard stand from?
Definitely want a video on annotating with iPad! Iβm in the same boat- too much and struggling with writing. We will get through it!
