Ive been watching football for 40 years, it doesnt mean I'm right, but of all the players Ive seen no one comes near maradona. I'm not saying no one is better, Ive said no one is even near him in terms of sheer fantasy with the ball, magic, charisma. Guys like cristiano or messi sure scored a lot more goals and had more assist, were both a lot more professional than Diego, but Diego's genius is something both could only aspire to have

The sheer brutality of the tackles hardly any tried to play the ball, he had to beat the opponents then ride the challenge or anticipate the foul to avoid it. Quite simply the best there has ever been no debate, and by a million miles better than Messi and Ronaldo.

mean and hard as iron that is what made him the greatest ever full stop Maradona. Played in an era where defenders went out to injure you and you got little protection from refs. Defenders hacked and stamped on his feet to slow him down. He played in a decent, but not, best club teams. He was instrumental in winning the world Cup with Agentina. If he played today, he would be killing it.
