my favorite line of this episode was from Roman: "are there other questions, less question-y questions?"
This podcast is a godsend. The only friend I managed to get into Succession has decided that she wants to wait till the season ends and then binge it, and I've been SO LONELY in my need to pick apart every episode! Listened to a lot of reviews after the premiere, but this is the only one I still care to listen to. Excellent work, guys. And thanks!
Kieran with the no not signing on was my favorite part of the show.
Logan head of security : "I know you" Kendall : 😳😐🥺
My wife suggested that Kendall's Nirvana intrusion was more of an attempt to wake Shiv up.
Y’all are great for having this up so fast
OH MY GOD, THIS EP WAS SO GOOD
It’s incredible how everyone misinterpreted Tom’s actions this episode
One of the best episodes of the show in any season, I don’t get this idea of the show being aimless right now, this episode did so much in terms of widening things up after the first two episodes
The last 2 episodes have had such great writing and execution by the actors.
To me Roman has become the most human member of the family.
This is the best Succession episode breakdown podcast.
I like this podcast but some of these references they bring up be having me clueless 🤣 🤣 love listening even though idk wtf they are talking about half the time.
It was Rape Me for the rapes on the cruises, not pick a favorite song from En Utero; Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, etc
The fact that they didn't explicitly show Kendal react to Shiv's townhall fall out has me thinking it was a set up to have her turn on her brother.
Roman and logan scene in the airport with the fake punch was so good
The Roy Empire, like the traditional media itself, is collapsing and falling into different pieces of different types of media (Youtube, Podcasts, Twitter, Facebook, independent media, etc.). Right now the show is on full collapse of that empire, so things are a bit confusing, Kendall's goal is to retake the company, but he has to have a better image that is separate from the toxic culture of the Roy Media Empire, at the same time, its also a vanity project for him and he does not know what he is doing. Shiv unsurprisingly is turning into Logan 2.0, and trying to keep the status quo. Roman wants change and would like a better relationship with his family, notably his siblings, but he is insecure and does not trust them, but feels like he can trust and rely on Gerri. Conner is the X factor right now, I think he will make a move against someone in the family. Tom and Greg will eventually team up and possibly take over. Naturally when a media empire, like any empire is collapsing, things are chaotic, we are in the full on chaos period, things can't stay the way they were as, both from a narrative point and just because the show would become repetitive. Embrace the chaos!
Wow what a great epi I was surprised that Kendall didn’t do some coke or even flip the script and walk out on the talk show set when the talk show host trashing him —-
I'm really really enjoying these
