A study from Stanford showed that eating fermented food increases gut microbiota diversity ! Which, it turns out, is the most important thing for gut health and stability. More diversity = greater health, stability, and anti-inflammatory goodness for your body. Less microbiota diversity = more prone to all sorts of infectious boogymen and more inflammation.
It's actually easy to get buttermilk if you're in India. We churn homemade curd with water until a little bit butter separates and add salt and hing to it and drink. It's our summer drink. It's very cooling in nature.
As always you provide great advice for those of us who struggle to maintain good eating habits. Thank you Dr. Hansen
Thanks Dr. Mike. Love your channel! I was curious how it's not problematic to overindulge on probiotics. Is there some regulatory process in the body that helps manage the population of "good" organisms? (I suppose the same could be asked of "bad" organisms... what's the nature of the mechanism that helps balance good/bad organisms, and do they not cause harm if either of their populations exceed some upper limit? I suppose the takeaway really is to make better dietary choices--but any resources or thoughts on this are appreciated. Regardless, thanks again. Appreciate you taking the time to make these videos!)
Hi Dr.Hansen good see you again great video all your videos is good Dr.Hansen is a awesome doctor take care pal
So pleased you mentioned Kefir as I already take it 👌helpful tip about the 2 kinds of fibre and the need for consuming prebiotics before consuming probiotic foods.🙌🏽

Great talk as usual, Mike. (Keep up the good work!) FYI, 'natto' is pronounced (approximately) "naht ・toh" — more-or-less even stress, double-t (long), with the second syllable elongated. Contrary to your screen text, there is no "ny" sound at the beginning.
So fiber, like oatmeal and bread? I been trying to stay away from or at least avoiding a lot of carbs.
I moved from Ukraine to US and my gut started feeling awful here. And then I realized why: in Ukraine you can easily in EVERY grocery store find sour cabbage or kefir without sugar. My snacks in Kyiv when I felt hungry was kefir and some low sugar whole grain bakery… Buckwheat and all kind of whole seeds where my basic nutrition. In US my diet switched and I should put and effort to find Wholefoods or other fancy store to buy a basic organic food…. But frozen snacks- everywhere. This is insane.
Is activia good? Also how much coconut is really good for health?
Doctor Mike can you do a video on Brightline Eating? I know it's been around for a while, I just wanted to know what you think about it?
