Wrong Andy Farrell is Not with the Lions until next year he’s wanting to use this autumn to play Australia so he will be very much there for Ireland most coaches leave the national side after the summer to concentrate on the Lions however Andy Farrell has made it clear he will step away after the Autumn internationals
Simon Easterby to assume Ireland Head Coach role temporarily from 1st December. Such poor research from the Sky NZ team 🤦
"We will catch Ireland off guard" Leinster: hold my beer.
As an lreland Fan i Love this, cant wait ,no one in the worild beats us in Dublin,End off🤫
This is hilarious! I can’t wait to watch this again after the tour. Beating Ireland in Dublin, France in Paris and English in London. And acting like it’s nicely set up 😂😂😂😂😂
I love the over confidence of these pundits, catch England and Ireland who haven't played and when they lose, it will be because NZ are at the end of the season and both England and Ireland are fresh. And the fact that they feel they have to catch England and Ireland while their rusty to win, speaks volumes. The reality being both the English players and Irish will have had 6 games under their belt from the premiership and the URC and Andy Farrell will very much be there for the November series.
Struggling to understand the basis for these predictions off the back of a poor rugby championship from NZ perspective - lost to Arg, SA twice and limped across Aus. Any other country would realise that to beat these teams at home is a very challenging task - maybe it’s the blind confidence that has been a factor in success over the years!
These lads, representing the official best commentary and punditry of NZ rugby are myopic in depth of knowledge. Farrell will still be there for Ireland while all their players are in a far more physical and competitive club system than SR, just like France, and England are more competitive since compartmentalised Prem. They’re saying Ireland haven’t played a game: they played in July, had maybe six-eight weeks off and back into a league which trounces SR. Lads, with that perspective, ye are not prepared. Please stay like that.
In France we can’t wait to see the All Blacks against les bleus
These guys don’t seem to be aware of whats happening in European Rugby!! Leinster just played Munster in front of 80K plus fans at Croke park a few weeks ago. Since the Saffa’s joined the URC the standards and intensity is off the scale….they need to pay attention methinks.
Lads you are deluded if you think Ireland are going to roll over. Plus the 20 min red card is stupid. A red card is for serious foul play end of! Get over the whole Sam Cane incident lads. 100% back France and Ireland in that regard
Andy Farrell will be the head coach for Ireland in the November series. He's not joining the Lions until next year. Already demonstrates this panel haven't done their homework on the Nations they're discussing which undermines everything else they say. But this is the usual panel deluded about how good the All Blacks are right now. Back in July they were trailing England in BOTH home tests until the last 20 minutes, including in their fortress of Eden Park, barely registering victories in the dying minutes. They then went and lost to a 7th ranked Argentina on home soil too and failed to register a victory in South Africa. Based on actual facts of their 2024 form compared to the form facts about their NH counterparts, rather than patriotic emotions, they'll struggle not only to beat France and Ireland at home (Ireland are on a 20-game winning streak in Dublin which includes multiple victories over a much stronger All Blacks side than the current one), but they'll really struggle to beat England if they struggled to beat them at Eden Park in New Zealand as England are a completely different beast in London and are only getting better as a team. This could be the worst series of defeats in their history. During the Rugby Championship season this same panel predicted they'd go to South Africa and register a clean sweep of victories but ended up registering 3 defeats in the competition. It's ironic when we hear of the Irish pundits being accused of being arrogant, but the NZ pundits take the cake.
Gonna lose against Ireland and France, maybe even England too
❤not sure about winning all games. Ireland went to SA and beat them and ran them very close in the first game. Lose to England and it could be 3 losses .
To misrepresent why a lot of people oppose the "short" red card is a not unexpected eye-close. It is not because we think people will come out and hit people on the chin with mighty right hands. The real fear is that poor technique will not be addressed. Too many coaches have seemed unable to school players to tackle properly, and recklessness becomes excused: "He isn't that sort of player". French rugby has seen a large reduction in red cards since the head was ruled off-limits. Today's newspaper has an interview with Dave Ewels who has been sent off in his last two international appearances. He got a lot of stick from the crowd. He still doesn't tackle properly . He thinks the 20 minute red card is a great idea. For me, I see poor tackling as an existential threat in the hands of lawyers.
Gotta love Kiwi confidence/arrogance. They'd be doing really well to win 3 of their games.
Ireland will be tough. The URC are like mini internationals with all the different styles they have to play against. Top 14 is French style rugby, and the Premiership is kind of England style rugby, but not all the teams play that way.
As an irish fan i think its always going to be a one score game between all blacks and ire. We are currently on our 4th choice hooker so there is a big chance our lineout (which hasnt been great even before the injuries) could be a weakness that all blacks go after and be the winning of the game. Either way looking forward to the game and i hope the new zealand fans have a great time in dublin
Have to say as an Ireland fan, it's a big ask for NZ to win all of the big games, bound to be injuries along the way, Ireland are down to their 5th choice hooker, but a massive opportunity for someone, it wouldn't surprise me if the AB's lost all 3 NH games, but any of those games could go either way, my money is on an Ireland win.
