The main character is not afraid of gun. In actuality, he did expressed his eagerness in shooting. Not going to compare to the music of GVP. But this music carried something. Both Onnoda Nadandhaa and Kaattumalli were soulful.
Man soori literally reminded me of my dad,😢😢, he's innocence and helplessness, even my dad was the same when I was young never used to raise his voice against his top mgt so that he doesn't lose his job, and he is still the same, when ever I saw a helpless soori on the screen automatically my eyes got wet, vetrimaran you once again proved that your the og of Kollywood cinema.
Ok it has spoilers....I'm watching later
I don’t agree much with many of the points here. I think it’s an excellent film. Was completely satisfied. To some of the points that mentioned, GVM became ruthless after the assassination of the 4 cops. I don’t think they could have stretched more in showing the reason for his change. It’s more like basically saying everyone’s perception keeps changing depending on the side they are in. Yes the 2 songs are not needed, but it didn’t affect the film in anyway. And it was pretty obvious that the two leads were completely in love with each other, I don’t get it why you expect the director to show how deeply they were in love instead of the two songs. I think we are overanalysing in the name of review. I didn’t find a single scene in the film which was not good or which could have been avoided. Huge fan of your reviews. Just my thoughts!!
I get the point about not capturing the emotions of small characters in the story.... but I felt that this is a story of Kumerasan, I think it should be focusing on Kumersan's feelings and emotions... Otherwise the story might get a little lagging... I agree to the part where the songs made the story telling a little slow... But how can we say no to a Ilayaraja song😅..He's still at his best...Overall it's good movie and a good setup for Part 2
Just watched it.The movie is a slow burn but worth the watch.kudos to the entire team.Sooris emotions continue to haunt me even hours after watching the movie.Wish Soori becomes the star he deserves to be.
Still mad you didn’t do a interview with Vetrimaran for this movie 😢

8 minute review. Code word accepted.
What I like about BR is if he likes the movie he talk about the movie an hour, if he dosen't like the movie he just complete his reviews in 2mins like noodles.
8 Mins, the lengthier review started from Super Deluxe & Vada chennai! CODE WORD!
Quite engaging movie with some hard hitting scenes. Soori's role is well written and he made a very impactful performance. Even the mild romantic scenes are very interesting.
Never expected the review to come out this soon! My show time is set in an hour, so will watch the entire review after experiencing the film.
Pretty decent review. Hats off to Vetri Maaran and his team.
Review for Baradwaj's review on Maestro Ilayaraja's music in Viduthalai: IR music is PHENOMENAL. BEST MUSIC (both Songs and Background Score) in the entirety of Vetrimaaran's filmography, UNDOUBTEDLY. The songs provided breathing space in an otherwise brutal movie. The placement of all the 3 songs, is also perfect: 1. Arutperum jothi - in less than 15 seconds or so, the song was abruptly cut while I wanted it to linger on for its fullest length. 2. Vazhi neduga kaattumalli - Beautifully picturized. Subtle emotions of the two leads also did justice to the beauty of the music. Ananya Bhat and IR vocals sound even more heavenly in the theater. 3. Onnoda nadanthaa - Dhanush's vocals actually FUSED WELL with the visuals! The song was like a pleasant journey, both aurally and visually. Unlike others, I did like his raw tone in the song, but since he is not blessed with good vocal cords, it might have bothered our folks - the kinds who use SPB's name to put down even an excellent singer like Mano. Coming to the Background Score, none other than IR would have done justice to the movie. The score is nothing less than the so-called "Hollywood" movies'. It was intriguing, mystic, adrenaline-pumping and soulful - as needed at the right spots. It was engrossing from the titles to the end credits. And the romantic theme was fascinating. Even the very-short pathos song in IR voice was moving. There is only one scene where the music is quite upbeat; it could be that Vetrimaaran wanted the music to be from the cops' perspective; that is the ONLY possibility I can think of.
I felt watching a Bala's movie which is directed by Vetrimaran... Definitely a must watch..
