Andy, so happy for you still, I brag to all my friends about it every time.
The Shield is also a great show where LA itself is a character. It's Shawn Ryan's love letter to the gritty side of the city. Not once did they ever look at the glamorous side that is really only 10% of the city.
Andy landed it with his insight about the cardio surgeon's scene!! That guy nailed it...
Would really love for Sheridan to expand his writer's room to two people. Just him and Andy. And then have a camera on Andy at all times during script meetings.
Landman!!ðŸ¤
Crossover with Button Mash to explore Los Santos in GTA V 🎮
So, the boys talk L.A. on-screen with no mention of Paul Thomas Anderson, at least we got some Altman
Chris your hat made my day.
Guys, stop sharing your lists before you unveil them here. It removes spontaneity from the show which could lead to more interesting discussion. Instead, knowing each other's lists before hand, you start to manufacture your responses and they become less interesting and less spontaneous. Plus, we don't wanna hear how great they are before we get to hear them. Gives a 'this is all rehearsed' feel to something that should feel freewheeling.
Is this channel new? Been listening to the podcast forever and never knew about this YouTube channel.
Chris is spot on with his Rebecca take! As a character, she makes no sense and is all over the place.
I lump once upon a time in Hollywood and the nice guys together in my favorite depictions of LA. There’s just something about that dirty, porny, and seedy version of LA in the 70s that I love
I hope you guys watch American Primeval. It blows the Taylor Sheridan snooze-fests out of the water! About music: Don't miss the incredible Cindy Lee album. Deservedly #1 on Pitchfork for 2024
Praying for all of LA. Is Pulp Fiction set in LA? LA Story, Clueless. Someone mentioned the Shield for TV. I would also throw in The Closer and Major Crimes.
Your friend Kelly doesn't realize, many, but not all, people in Texas don't care about the condition of their cars. I've seen people here drive behind a gravel semi blowing off gravel the entire time on the highway and they will not move. I've actually seen people purposely blocking an ambulance with it's lights and sirens on in Houston.
The Falcone lawyer character gives me whiplash. One episode she appears delighted to invent her version of the truth to destroy an entire family’s wrongful death claim and the life of a former employee of her client. The next she’s wringing her hands over fracking. Between that and the innumerable improper objections/statements as an attorney, she’s by far the worst character. With of course the 30-year-old playing jailbait coming a close second.
THE BLACK VOID WHERE SEAN PODS FROM
I liked Landman but seriously what was the point of some of Rebecca and all of Ainsley's scenes? that stuff served no purpose and i skipped it every time.
