Fun fact Kevin actually gets two tapes, one gets glossed over a lot. In chapter 3 one of the doctors is recording their extraction of Kevin when another child asks "where are you taking my friend? Is he sick?" The doctor hurries to get this kid back to bed, saying Kevin is being taken care of by the best doctors and they're the best because they studied hard and got their rest. In chapter 4 what we get is the continuation of that tape which picks up immediately after he sent that kid away
