@RidPhanto

7:13 I love these lot so much. Can’t believe Gary got done there 👂 😂😂😂

@KoniZooboo

My tuppence worth on the Alan vs Gary question to Micah - I would bet that Micah would rather have played against prime Alan Shearer AND Ian Wright in the same game than spend 90 minutes marking Gary Lineker. For me, this is because while Alan or Ian would have made him hate them, Gary would have made him hate his own team's fans.

When Alan or Ian scored, you understood why it happened. The skill, the athleticism was all very visible. When Gary scored (as he did so often against my team), we were left utterly convinced that it absolutely should not have been a goal. It was inconceivable that a striker could find himself in space pretty much in your 6 yard box with your entire defensive line seemingly unable to see him. It made you want to call them every kind of name and we frequently did. Reality or rationality evaporated at that moment - it looked so simple, so utterly avoidable, that we were convinced that our defenders had donkey dung for brains, the thick lumps.

It was only later that, as I understood more and more of the game, I realized that it was impossible that all the world's best defenders could turn into utter shite just when he scored. He had to be doing something special, something so subtle that I just wasn't spotting it. Rewatching some of Gary's games (when available) was a huge part of how I deepened my understanding of what was actually going on in a football match, beyond just the obvious.

For anybody too young to have watched him play - don't be fooled by the nice gentleman on screen. That pleasant fella who never got a single yellow card in his entire career was a ruthless, ice-cold assassin made all the more lethal for his seeming lack of technicality or flair.

If you know, you know.

@harffywayne

Glad #SirLiniker said he wouldn’t do a reality show such as big brother. He doesn’t need it and he is going down as a living legend… looking forward to much more podcasts from him and the gang.

@NeilHardy-i4l

I love how Gemini started as an advert but just became a thing of its own. Very funny stuff

@vishnurp93

That's the best endorsement for Gemini! I tried Gemini initially and found it lacking compared to ChatGPT, but after hearing this, I'm willing to give it another shot. I always follow this channel and podcast—they're the perfect stressbusters. Thanks guys!

@sted4258
